Idaho First Lady Lori Otter and I-WIL Executive Director Debbie Field visit Chobani's women leaders
Chobani Women is an internal initiative created last year to build a stronger community of women within the company. Momentum from this initiative led to a company wide lecture series this year designed to bring together women from cross-functional areas to learn from other women leaders who’ve made an impact nationally, regionally and in their local communities.
Twin Falls was honored to welcome First Lady Lori Otter as its guest speaker. To a group of about 100 women, she talked about her personal evolution in leadership – a journey that began in her hometown of Kimberly, Idaho – about a mile from our plant.
“My life plan was to be an elementary school principal. Then I met and a guy with a really important job,” she said, referring to her husband, Idaho Governor Butch Otter. “I went from teaching jump rope in P.E. class to being First Lady! Sometimes life puts you in positions that let you develop into what you were meant to do.”
