Emma Edwards Green was an American painter and designer who designed the State Seal of Idaho, used on the Flag of Idaho. She was the only woman to have designed a state seal in the United States. She fell in love with Boise, after what was supposed to be a short visit on her way home from art school, and decided to make Idaho her beloved home. She taught art classes for pioneers and became a strong woman in the community. Learn more about her life and creative process here.
